***Coronavirus update***
Following yesterdays Scottish Government anouncement that the City of Glasgow is moving to Tier 4 of lockdown restrictions, we would like to reasure all of our patients that we will remain open.
Dental practices are extremely safe and highly regulated environments. We are trained to the highest standards of cross infection control and have all the necessary precautions in place to treat you safely.
The only restricted appointments are those for Facial Aesthetics and we wll be contacting all affected patients to make alternative arrangements
We will continue to follow advice from our governing bodies and thank you all for your continued support during these unprecendented times.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the team at the practice if you have any queries!

***Coronavirus update***
A big hello to all our patients! 👋🏼 We are very pleased to announce that we have reopened our doors again today Monday 22nd June, but with limited treatments
.
Unfortunately due to restrictions we can only offer appointments to 'urgent' cases or patients in pain
.
As a team we must still comply with the government rules on social distancing. This means we can only have a very limited number of people in the practice each day
.
It will take some time before services return to normal. Please be patient
.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff
•âť—Our practice will communicate with you beforehand to ask screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again at your appointment
•âť—We have hand sanitiser available as soon as you enter the practice and we ask that all patients use this on entering and leaving the building
•âť—We kindly ask patients to attend your appointment on time. If you are early we may ask you to wait outside or in your car. Or if you are late, there is a risk you may not be seen
•âť—Patients must attend on their own where possible
•âť— We kindly ask you to bring as little personal items as possible, for example, if you have driven to the practice, consider leaving your jacket and bag in the car
•âť—We no longer offer magazines, children’s toys etc as these items are difficult to clean and disinfect
•âť—Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. We hope everyone has been keeping safe and well during this difficult time,
Maryhill Smile Care

***Coronavirus update***
To our lovely patients and friends.
The situation regarding Covid-19 is changing on a daily basis. We would like to update you about the new guidance we have received from our local health board authorities and the Chief dental officer for Scotland
We have been instructed to cease all direct clinical care at the practice including treatment for any urgent dental emergencies. We will still be available during normal working hours to answer your calls and triage emergency care.
We will provide advice as appropriate and if you require to be seen, an appointment will be arranged for you at a designated emergency dental facility out with the practice.
Urgent dental emergencies include:
- Severe dental pain
- Facial swelling
- Uncontrolled bleeding
Some other dental emergencies such as a broken tooth or a crown out are no longer deemed to be an urgent emergency in the current circumstances.
We find ourselves in an unprecedented situation and it saddens us that we are unable to see and provide dental treatment for our patients at the practice. However, the well being of our patients and staff is our priority and we must follow all government guidelines.
For patients who do not need urgent dental care but who may have a query please feel free to contact us via phone or email and we will be happy to assist.
Thank you for your support, and stay safe,
The Team at Maryhill Smile Care
(Tuesday 24rd March 2020)
At Maryhill Smile Care we put our patients and our people first and as a result we have made the difficult decision to move our practice to emergency only footing with immediate effect.
We will be open for emergencies only a dental emergency is classed as one or more of the following:
🚨 Pain lasting more than 48hrs

🚨 Swelling or bleeding

🚨Dental Trauma

If you are experiencing any of the above please call the practice for advice

📲 0141 332 1181

Do not turn up to the practice unannounced as we will be unable to treat you.
We thank all of our amazing patients for their support & understanding during this trying time and hope to be back soon.
(Monday 23rd March 2020)
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak we are currently unable to work as normal following the latest guidelines from the Scottish Chief Dental Officer and the government guidelines on social distancing.
This is a not a decision we have taken lightly but we feel it is our responsibility to protecting you, our valued patients, our team and our families.
We will be maintaining a telephone service for advice and the clinical team will be seeing emergencies only.
An emergency is classed as:
Severe pain for over 48 hours
Facial Swelling
Trauma or uncontrolled bleeding
If you have any of the above symptoms, please call the practice number where a member of our team can provide advice or if necessary, arrange an emergency appointment.
PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE AT THE PRACTICE UNANNOUNCED
We understand this is inconvenient and it may mean that treatment timelines are extended. We will be able to catch up with Cosmetic treatment, tooth straightening, gum health and restorative dentistry when it is safe to do so. If your appointment needs to be postponed, then one of our team will be in touch. We know you will treat the team with respect during this challenging time. We are doing our best in a difficult situation.
We will review the situation over the next few days/weeks and let you know as the advice changes.
Thank you for all your support in these uncertain times, and stay safe,
The Team at Maryhill Smile Care.
(Wednesday 18th March 2020)
As per advice from the Chief Dental Officer of Scotland, advising us that as of today (Wednesday 18th March 2020), all dental practices across Scotland will be severely limited as to the dental procedures we are allowed to provide.
We will not be permitted to use any aerosol generating procedures. This will affect a number of different treatments.
There is no indication in the guidelines as to how long we should expect this situation to continue but we will provide you with further updates as we know more information.
We will be contacting all our patients with appointments as soon as we can.
These measures have been put in place by the Chief Dental Officer for Scotland and we must adhere to them. We do not know at this time how long these guidelines will be in place for but will update you as soon as we have further information.
We will have staff available at the practice during our normal opening hours for the time being but we request that you do not come into the building unless you have an appointment to prevent potential spread of the virus (social distancing).
